KMB is donating two pond maintenance projects to the Michigan Department of Corrections (MDOC). One project will be installed at Women’s Huron Valley Correctional Facility and the other at the Muskegon Correctional Facility. KMB is using money from its Gerstacker Grant to purchase the pond equipment for Horticultural training. The amount of the donation is just under $4,000. Click here for photographs of the projects.

April 30 is Arbor Day, the celebration of trees and their importance in our lives. The MDOC participates in the celebration of trees through their partnership with the DNR’s Happy Little Trees program. Horticultural Instructor Dean and the students at Muskegon Correctional have been growing trees that will soon be planted in state parks across Michigan.
